Idiot Trump Wants A War With Germany

Donald Trump is suggesting the United States should treat Germany more like an enemy because the two countries were adversaries in World War II as the president again lobbied for closer US-Russian relations.
If he turns the off-the-cuff remark into US policy, Mr Trump would try fundamentally overhauling the post-World War II global power dynamic that saw Western countries bring Germany into their sphere while combating Moscow and fighting the spread of communism in the post-war era. But with little opposition to the American-German alliance in Congress, especially the GOP-run Senate, such a plan would face ample pushback – including from within his own party.
Mr Trump, during another wildly cascading "Fox & Friends" call-in, launched into a remarkable diatribe about Germany and Russia – and how the United States should treat each country – after being asked about what he and Russian President Vladimir Putin would discuss during a planned telephone conversation Monday morning.
The American leader repeated his long-espoused view that it would be a "good thing" if Washington and Moscow had a warmer relationship, noting he has been saying so since he was first a presidential candidate. Despite his five-year-old contention, the Cold War adversaries remain rivals on the global stage.
"They also fought World War II. They lost 50 million people," Mr Trump said of Russia, then the Soviet Union.
"Germany was the enemy. ... And Germany's [now], like, this wonderful thing," he added, suggesting the now-democratic European power is not-so wonderful in his eyes.
In true Trumpian form, he attempted to give himself some distance from the suggestion, saying of his Germanic ancestry: "Look, it's fine," Mr Trump said of US-German relations. "It's in my heritage."
The US president has grown frustrated at times with German Chancellor Angela Merkel, who was close with former President Barack Obama and has not always followed Mr Trump's demands or advice.
Notably, Ms Merkel in 2018 called on NATO to have a tougher stance against Russia. At home, her Christian Democratic Union political party typically proposes the toughest policy prescriptions for how to deal with Mr. Putin's government.
Mattia Nelles, of the nonpartisan Atlantic Council, has written about a "typical German desire to be on good terms with Russia."
After all, Germany imports $22bn in energy products from Russia, according to ComTrade and TradingEconomics.com. It also buys billions more in copper, aluminum, steel and other crucial materials from Russia, making the relationship one of economic necessity for Berlin.
Despite Mr Trump's veiled call for countries to treat Germany as more foe than friend, Ms Nells' has written that the widespread German view of warm relations with Mr Putin's government "generally is in line with the EU's Russia policy and involves criticising Russia for its illegal activities and pushing back through sanctions, while at the same time trying to engage through trade and civil society or cultural cooperation."
Heather Conley, a former senior State Department official now with the nonpartisan Center for Strategic and International Studies, recently called Mr Trump's coronavirus foreign policy approach "personality-driven" and "blame-driven" and "devastating," saying it "has great real-world implications for America's leadership in the world and our allies and partners.
"What happens if you don't like Angela Merkel of Germany? And so this personality dynamic is the new normal, unfortunately," she said on a recent call with reporters. "And it completely neuters the institutions and all the relationships that make the types and the mechanics of crises like these work."

Trump Says He Told Pence to Ignore Governors in Hard-Hit Areas If They Are ‘Not Appreciative

My Op Ed: If Trump dies of coronavirus I will go to where his carcass is buried and piss on his grave.

Shortly after the U.S. death toll from the coronavirus pandemic reached 1,500 on Friday, President Donald Trump took to the podium at a White House press briefing and complained that certain state’s governors  are not “appreciative” enough of the federal government’s help—so much so that he said he’d told Vice President Mike Pence, the leader of the coronavirus task force, to skip calling governors of some hard-hit areas.
Trump singled out the Democratic leaders of Washington and Michigan, noting that he had advised Pence not to call them as the healthcare crisis plagues their states and people fall sick and die.
“He calls all the governors,” Trump said. “I tell him, I mean, I'm a different type of person. I say Mike, don't call the governor of Washington, you're wasting your time with him. Don't call the woman in Michigan.”
“If they don't treat you right, I don't call,” Trump said.
Michigan’s health department is reporting 3,657 COVID-19 cases and 92 deaths. In Washington, there have been 3,700 cases, according to the state, and 175 deaths.
“We have done a hell of a job,” Trump said. “The federal government has really stepped up.”
Trump’s message to governors was that he wants “them to be appreciative.”
The president’s comments Friday come as the coronavirus pandemic continues to shut down American life and states across the nation show a lack of uniformity on aggressive public health measures aimed at preventing the spread of the virus.
Earlier this week, Trump began to push on an Easter timeline to re-open the country, despite warnings that such a timeline was unwise. Even some Republican governors have pushed back on the timeline. Despite his earlier emphasis on Easter, he hedged when asked about the topic Friday.
"I certainly want to get it open as soon as possible, I don't want it to be long," Trump said. "But we also want it to open safe, otherwise, what did we do?"
At the start of the coronavirus task force briefing Trump said the nation's governors "have been very gracious, for the most part."
"A couple that aren't appreciative of the incredible job,” Trump said. “They have to do a better job themselves, that's part of the problem."
He continued to praise his administration's work, while scorning Washington Gov. Jay Inslee as "a failed presidential candidate."
"He leveled out at zero in the polls," Trump said. "He's constantly chirping and I guess complaining would be a nice way of saying it."
He then jumped to attacking another Democratic governor, Michigan’s Gretchen Whitmer.
"Michigan, all she does is, she has no idea what's going on," he said. "And all she does is say 'Oh, it's the federal government's fault.' And we've taken such great care of Michigan."
Before long, Gov. Phil Murphy in New Jersey and Gov. Andrew Cuomo of New York were mentioned as Democrats who have been kinder.
If New Jersey’s governor were asked how the federal government is doing, Trump mused "I think he'd say great. I think. He's a Democrat."

Arizona man dies after taking chloroquine phosphate, believing it was coronavirus drug touted by Trump

An Arizona man has died and his wife is in critical condition after the two ingested an additive they believed was the drug touted by President Trump as a potential cure for the COVID-19 virus. According to NBC News, the woman says she and her husband, who are both in their 60s, watched a press conference with President Trump where he spoke about chloroquine or hydroxychloroquine and the potential impact it has on the virus.
The woman said she had some chloroquine phosphate in her house that she used to treat her fish for a sickness. The couple decided to mix a small amount of the chloroquine phosphate into a liquid and drink it. However, within minutes they both started feeling ill and called 911.
When paramedics arrived, the woman was unable to stand and speak, while her husband was having respiratory issues. The woman was able to vomit some of what they’d consumed, but the man did not. He was taken to a nearby hospital, but eventually died.
The woman said they ingested the additive because they were afraid of catching COVID-19 and saw President Trump talk about the potential effectiveness against the virus, the news site reported. However, what they ingested, chloroquine phosphate, is formulated differently than the hydroxychloroquine that Trump spoke about.
During a March 19 press conference, Trump mentioned the possibility of hydroxychloroquine -- also used as an anti-malaria medicine -- being available for prescription from a doctor as possible tool to battle COVID-19. The president falsely stated the Food and Drug Administration had approved the drug to treat COVID-19 patients and the FDA has said more testing needs to be done to understand the effectiveness of the drug.
“The nice part is, it’s been around for a long time so we know if things don’t go as planned, it’s not going to kill anybody,” Trump said about hydroxychloroquine.
At a later press conference, after the FDA confirmed it had not approved the drug for COVID-19 treatment, Trump continued to tout the drug and said he felt very good about its effectiveness.
“As the expression goes ‘what do we have to lose?’” Trump said.

Texas Lt. Gov. Dan Patrick suggests the elderly should DIE to save the economy

As the coronavirus continues to spread in the United States, forcing people to stay in their homes and causing an economic downturn, Texas Lt. Gov. Dan Patrick joined Tucker Carlson Tonight where he became a top-trending topic by suggesting we get back to our normal lives to save the economy even at great risk to the country’s senior citizens. Patrick, who turns 70 next week, believes it’s up to older Americans to take that risk.
“Tucker, no one reached out to me and said, ‘As a senior citizen, are you willing to take a chance on your survival in exchange for keeping the America that all America loves for your children and grandchildren?’ And if that’s the exchange, I’m all in,” Patrick said, later adding, “My message is, let’s get back to work. Let’s get back to living. Let’s be smart about it, and those of us who are 70-plus, we’ll take care of ourselves.”
Patrick’s suggestion was not well received on Twitter.
And though the mortality rate for seniors is much higher than for others, Patrick believes the risk is worth it to stem the economic downturn caused by the pandemic.
“Our biggest gift we give to our country, and our children and our grandchildren, is the legacy of our country,” Patrick said. “And right now that is at risk, and I feel like, as the president said, the mortality rate is so low, do we have to shut down the whole country for this?”
Patrick also believes the country will collapse if we shut down for more than three months, and when asked if that would be worse than dying, he said that it was. However, Patrick didn’t suggest that everyone go back to work immediately, just that it happens sooner rather than later, and that he’d trust President Trump to make that decision.
Earlier in the day, Trump showed signs of growing impatience with coronavirus-related shutdowns, saying he’s “not looking at months.”
Tucker Carlson Tonight airs weeknights at 8 p.m. on Fox News Channel.
For the latest news on the evolving coronavirus outbreak, follow along here. According to experts, people over 60 and those who are immunocompromised continue to be the most at risk. If you have questions, please reference the CDC and WHO’s resource guides.

Tucker Carlson torches Sen. Burr for dumping stocks ahead of coronavirus outbreak

On Thursday night, Fox News host Tucker Carlson called for Republican Senator Richard Burr of North Carolina to resign and be prosecuted for insider trading. Earlier in the day, it was reported that the Senate Intelligence Committee chairman sold stock in mid-February that he knew would take a hit due to the coronavirus. And while Burr downplayed the threat of the coronavirus publicly, NPR obtained a recording of him privately warning of its dangers.

Trump-Friendly Megachurch Pastors Push Bogus COVID-19 Cures

Photo Illustration by The Daily Beast/Photos AP/Getty
Several prominent pastors tied to Donald Trump have claimed to have the power to cure the coronavirus through prayer, hyping up religious miracle cures amid the pandemic
While many Americans have turned to prayer as the coronavirus death toll mounts, these religious leaders have gone much further, promising that they can physically cure the disease. As the public scrambles for information on the illness, these religious leaders have claimed they can solve it themselves—with one even claiming he’ll cure the entire state of Florida.
Scumbag Texas minister Kenneth Copeland, who visited the White House in 2018 for a dinner for evangelical leaders, claims to have a novel delivery method for a coronavirus cure: television screens.
Appearing on the Victory Channel, which his church operates, Copeland claimed on March 12 to heal coronavirus-infected viewers who touched their TVs.
“Put your hand on that television set,” Copeland told his viewers. “Hallelujah. Thank you, Lord Jesus. He received your healing.”
A few days later, he said God had told him the pandemic would soon be over, as Christians praying all over the country had “overwhelmed it.” While Christians would save the country, he said, it was the president’s critics who “opened the door” to the pandemic with their “displays of hate” that had interfered with “divine protection.”
Copeland isn’t the only Trump-supporting pastor promoting the idea that the coronavirus can be healed through religion.
The coronavirus poses a conundrum for many evangelical pastors because healing is a key part of their appeal, according to Peter Montgomery, a senior fellow at Right Wing Watch. After decades of promoting themselves as healers, they now face a global pandemic.
“For those people and those leaders, being able to miraculously heal people is sort of central to their religious identity,” Montgomery said.
That group includes Pastor Frank Amedia, founder of Touch Heaven Ministries and the POTUS Shield Ministry, and a former “liaison for Christian policy” to President Donald Trump’s 2016 campaign.
On Feb. 17, Amedia told stories of “supernatural healings” in virus-wracked China—and repeated conspiracy theories about the virus’ origin—during an appearance on the podcast of Stephen Strang, an evangelical publisher who has written multiple books in support of the president, including God and Donald Trump
“We have reports of Christians being healed of this virus by the power of God and the healing of God,” Amedia said.
Apostle Guillermo Maldonado has both visited the White House and hosted Trump at his massive El Rey Jesús church, where the president kicked off his “Evangelicals for Trump” campaign in January. In a recording posted to his YouTube channel on March 17, Maldonado declared that he had ordered the virus to “dissolve, disintegrate, die in Jesus’ mighty name” and told those infected to “be healed in Jesus’ mighty name.”
“I curse that virus from the root and from the seed, in Jesus’ mighty name, right now,” Maldonado said. “Disintegrate, dissolve like the dust, in Jesus’ mighty name.”
Another Trump ally, Pastor Rodney Howard-Browne, vowed to cure the entire state of Florida of coronavirus. Howard-Browne, who was among the evangelical leaders who laid hands on the president in an Oval Office ceremony in 2017, claimed in February he would cure the state.
More recently, he encouraged his congregation to shake hands at March 15 services, claiming “this has to be the safest place.” He vowed in the same sermon that “this church will never close.”
Like Howard-Browne, other pastors resisted calls to shutter their churches. Maldonado initially refused calls to close his church, claiming that the idea of shutting down to avoid spreading the disease was a “demonic spirit.” But on Wednesday, Maldonado relented and announced that his church would be closed for in-person events.
“On Sunday, he was literally mocking from the pulpit people who stayed home,” Montgomery said. “I don’t know how you walk that back.”

My Op Ed: These scumbags should be in cages and burned to death with flame throwers.

Scumbag Sen. Rand Paul, Who Opposed Coronavirus Relief Bill, Tests Positive

Sarah Silbiger/Getty

Sen. Rand Paul (R-KY), who was the only senator to oppose a coronavirus relief package last month, announced Sunday that he has tested positive for the virus.
“He is feeling fine and is in quarantine,” an announcement on his Twitter said. “He is asymptomatic and was tested out of an abundance of caution due to his extensive travel and events.”
It added, “He expects to be back in the Senate after his quarantine period ends and will continue to work for the people of Kentucky at this difficult time.”
In addition to being the only senator to vote against an $8.3 billion emergency coronavirus package, Paul also was one of the eight senators who voted against paid sick leave in a stimulus bill that passed with an overwhelming 90-8 vote last week.
“I think that the paid sick leave is an incentive for businesses to actually let go employees and will make unemployment worse,” Paul, a physician who has a Kentucky-issued medical license, explained to Newsweek.
CNN reported that Paul closed his Capitol Hill offices over a week ago and urged employees to work from home due to concerns over the coronavirus outbreak. Two people who attended the annual Speed Art Museum ball in Kentucky with the senator on March 7 later tested positive for the virus, according to the Courier-Journal.
But despite reportedly being tested roughly a week ago, Paul continued to interact with colleagues and even worked out at the Senate gym—and was swimming in the pool—on Sunday morning, shortly before he received his positive test results, Politico reported.
Paul is the first senator to test positive for the novel coronavirus. Two other members of Congress, Reps. Mario Diaz-Balart (R-FL) and Ben McAdams (D-UT), have also gone public with positive test results.
According to the World Health Organization, COVID-19, the disease caused by the novel coronavirus, is particularly dangerous for people with lung problems. In August 2019, Paul had part of his lung removed after an altercation with his neighbor Rene Boucher. The two had a long-running dispute over lawn care.
“While it is worldwide, I think there is room for optimism that this thing may plateau out in a few weeks and not be as bad it as it may have been portrayed,” he said to host Neil Cavuto. “We’ve seen pockets of this around the world and even in Italy and Iran where we have it, but none of it is approaching what started in China.”
When asked about institutions taking larger measures to limit the spread of the virus, Paul was resistant to the idea. “I think closing down the Smithsonians would be way too premature and I wouldn’t advise something like that.”
And when Cavuto asked Paul about making personal adjustments to avoid infection, the Senator was particularly defiant. “I mean, I fly all the time and I’m not cutting back on my flying... I was on a plane today,” he said. “I could be wrong and this could be really bad in two or three weeks or a month, but I’m hoping it’s not going to be. I’m not ready to buy all the toilet paper at Target.”
The senator’s nut job father, Dr. Ron Paul, a physician and a former Republican congressman from Texas, published an essay called “The Coronavirus Hoax” last week for the New River Valley News, a local outlet based in Virginia.
“People should ask themselves whether this coronavirus ‘pandemic’ could be a big hoax, with the actual danger of the disease massively exaggerated by those who seek to profit—financially or politically—from the ensuing panic,” the elder Paul wrote.
As of Sunday afternoon, there are 30,000 COVID-19 cases in the U.S., and nearly 400 people have died.
