Don’t make a big deal out of it 4 sheriffs not enforcing your mandate. Moral and prudent people will behave like humans and Trumpers will act like spoiled children. That’s just how they are. Order or no order they won’t comply with social distancing or mask wearing. There is a simple reason for this, they’re bad citizens. They break traffic laws, smoke, drink and drive and raise shitty kids.
Good people will be vigilant like the good people of Japan have been and consequently avoided lock downs and a hit to their economy. Unlike Japan, America has a very high asshole quotient.
Put yourself in the Sheriff’s shoes. He wants to get reelected and if he breaks up a holiday party he’s gonna piss off a lot of people. Worse than that, the anti-maskers are anti-government. I don’t just mean they are anti NYS government or anti federal government they hate the very idea of government. They are delusional libertarian types and that makes them dangerous. I would not want to put my deputies at risk trying to save these people from themselves. Would you want to break up a party full of drunk angry Trumpanzees? I do think your mandate is over reach even though the intent is good. You want to save lives but that’s not your call especially when you consider the quality of the people that might be saved by it. These are bad people whose very existence is a threat to civilization. Protecting people from themselves is not the role of government and it obstructs the natural order of things. Masks protect the wearers by 80% so the risk to the good people is relatively low.
The people of North Dakota and South Dakota are being decimated by this virus. Since very few kids die from it, I’m glad it’s happening. (Kids who got the MMR vaccine are partially immune) If those states can turn blue the good guys will own the US Senate. It may not happen right away but a lot of people who survived severe COVID-19 will probably die prematurely. It may take a few more years to turn the deepest red states blue.
The predictions for the surge vary but based on what I’ve seen the death toll by March 1st will be 650,000. If you factor in the under reporting by Texas and Florida, the actual death toll could be 3/4 of a million by March 1st with the vast majority of deaths happening in Trumpistan. Attempts to mitigate the surge probably won’t work so why waste resources on people who are such bad citizens? Why save people who don’t care about the rights and well being of others? Why?
Here’s something else to consider. COVID kills 3% of people infected. If some Trumpanzee gets in the face of a citizen or a cop and starts slobbering spit all over that person’s face and even in his eyes, what sort of force should be used to repel that attack? 7.7% of stabbing victims die. Is it reasonable for a cop to shoot some asshole brandishing a knife? What about some idiot with a vile of blood that may or may not contain dangerous pathogens what happens then? As it stands now, currently 3% of people who get COVID-19 die. Is that a deadly threat to citizens and officers? That said, cops entering a home without a warrant is unlawful. Exigent circumstances would be hard to prove. Also, how can a cop tell how many people are in the home? He can’t. What gives him reasonable suspicion that a crime is taking place, parked cars?You’re on shaky ground Governor and I would urge you to error on the side of the Fourth Amendment.
The Thanksgiving surge will be the biggest yet and the Christmas surge may be even bigger and then there will be the New Year’s Eve party surge. The death toll will be staggering but then again, mostly bad people will die. Is it moral to try to stop the demise of people who care so little about their fellow man that they won’t wear a mask and practice social distancing?
If you think I’m a cold fish, you’d be wrong. Our democracy is in peril and Trump did not cause this all by himself. In 2016 his MAGAts rejected Pataki, Kasich and Jeb Bush, three people who know how to govern and are moral for the most part. The MAGAts rejected three competent humans for rapist, pedophile, liar, thief, conman, criminal, cheater and swindler Donald Trump. A lot of people would like to believe that Trump had his supporters brainwashed in 2016. That thinking is absurd. When people put all the blame on Trump for this mess their thinking is absurd. When people put all the blame on Hitler for the holocaust they ignore the fact that Hitler had a whole lot of help from people perhaps even more evil than Hitler himself. There are people more evil than Trump. Think of COVID-19 as a biological version of Nuremberg. Don’t stop it. When the MAGAt accuse our leaders of tyranny they can’t see that they are the one acting like tyrants. When they plot to kidnap and exucte our elected officials and public servants, they are the tyrants.
As to the vaccines:
The best vaccine looks to be the Oxford Astr-Zenica. Here’s why.
Pfizer and Moderma have to be kept frozen at -70F. The testing for those vaccines was dishonest. The 95% efficacy claime is deceptive. It was based on how may people got sick and not how many people test positive for COVID-19 after the vaccine was adminstered.
The Oxford Astra Vaccine can be kept at up to degrees 40F and even a monkey can administer it. Astra Zenica reports and honest efficacy of 90% which they based on infections. Moderma and Pfizer didn’t do that so the real efficacy of their vaccines is probably much lower than their 95% claim. The 10% subjects in the Oxford Astra Zenica studies who tested positive, did not get sick. For all practical purposes the Oxford Astra Zenica vaccine is 100% effective.
At $3 per dose, Astra Zenica is not making a profit from their vaccine. If you have any say on which vaccine New Yorker get, go with the Oxford Astra Zenica. In the meantime, don’t shed a tear for those who would not shed a tear for you.
