The Truth About Trump And The "Deep State"

You can read the following for a complete understanding of the "deep state" but here is all you really need to know. The so called deep state is not actually US government. The deep state is the corporations who own and control the US government. There really are no mysteries when it comes to why the US is no longer a democracy. It all comes down to the same common denominator - MONEY! It's the golden rule which states: The guys with the gold make the rules. The solution is as simple as the problem. Make is so there are no more filthy rich anywhere in the world.  When the rich are gone freedom and liberty will be back. It really is that simple.



At a conference in mid-July, Barack Obama’s CIA director, John Brennan, remarked that executive branch officials have an “obligation … to refuse to carry out” outrageous or anti-democratic orders from President Donald Trump. The comment quickly caught the attention of Rush Limbaugh, who saw nothing short of a threat to the republic. “He practically called for a coup!” the radio host bellowed on the air a few days later, warning of a plot orchestrated by “embeds in the deep state at the Pentagon, State Department, various intelligence agencies.”

The deep state entered America’s national discourse in 2017 with the feeling of an already familiar character, ready to assume a starring role as hero or villain—depending on how you feel about Trump. It’s easy to dismiss the idea as the breathless complaint of a frustrated president who hasn’t learned to work the system. But it’s not that simple: There really is a kind of cabal that operates independently of elected officials in Washington—even if it’s not quite what Trump or his conservative allies think it is.

Political scientists and foreign policy experts have used the term deep state for years to describe individuals and institutions who exercise power independent of—and sometimes over—civilian political leaders. They applied it mainly to developing countries like Algeria, Pakistan, Egypt and Turkey, where generals and spies called the real shots in nominally democratic societies and replaced elected leaders when they saw fit. (Turkey and Egypt have recently moved to more overt security-state dictatorships, in which the deep state is the only state.)

Glennon’s 2014 book, National Security and Double Government. Glennon observed that Obama had campaigned against Bush-era surveillance and security policies in 2008 but acquiesced to many of them as president—suggesting a national-security apparatus that holds sway even over the elected leaders notionally in charge of it.

Enter Donald Trump. After January 2017, the unaccountable string-pulling bureaucracy suddenly came to seem, especially to liberals, less a sinister cabal than a crucial check on a president determined to blow up the system we had come to take for granted. Trump was openly hostile to much of the government he now ran, and its institutions began fighting back, sometimes in public ways. They did so with a combination of the severe (leaks of Trump’s conversations with foreign leaders) and the absurd (critical tweets from federal accounts like that of the National Park Service). To Trump and his allies, the new president is now the victim of conspiratorial bureaucrats threatened by a president trying to “drain the swamp.” In August, after Environmental Protection Agency employees alerted the New York Times to an EPA report on climate change they feared would be quashed, a headline at the conservative Breitbart News website shouted: “Deep State Teams with Fake News.” Even more anxiety swirls around classified information: In July, the Republican-led Senate Homeland Security Committee released a report that found the Trump administration was being hit by national security leaks “on a nearly daily basis” and at a far higher rate than its predecessors encountered. (After the report was picked up in the conservative media, Trump’s son Donald Jr. tweeted a link to it. “If there ever was confirmation that the Deep State is real, illegal & endangers national security, it’s this,” he wrote.)

My Op Ed: Liberals are generally not conspiracy theorists because the difference between the so called liberals and the so called conservatives is that liberal understand facts, liberals don't hate the very idea of government and liberals are not as easily led and the less educated lower IQ righties.

Thus have the old battle lines flipped. Conservatives who once dismissed concerns about political abuse of NSA surveillance now complain about intelligence leaks linking Trump associates to the Kremlin; liberals who not long ago were denouncing the CIA for its unaccountable power have discovered new affection for the heroes at Langley who might uncover impeachment-worthy dirt.

My Op Ed: Today's so called conservatives are not conservatives. They are not fiscal conservatives nor are they social conservatives. They are partisans who respond to hate the way hungry a wolf would respond to a raw meat. Thoughtful educated conservatives like Joe Scarborough and George Will like liberals understand facts.

Beneath the politics of convenience is the reality that a large segment of the U.S. government really does operate without much transparency or public scrutiny, and has abused its awesome powers in myriad ways. And sometimes the government bureaucracy really does exercise power over the commander in chief: Obama felt that the military pressured him into sending more troops to Afghanistan than he had wanted, while an inexperienced George W. Bush was arguably led to war by a bipartisan cadre of national security insiders who had long wanted to take out Saddam Hussein.

My Op Ed: What happened was Cheney saw a way to exploit an endless and unfunded war for extreme profits. Obama, inherited the quagmire than Cheney started. Unlike Trump, Obama listened to his generals.

Even the Trump critique about the deep state in revolt, however exaggerated, is worth consideration. Hillary Clinton voters might delight in the classified material gushing forth about the president’s men—but its release can be criminal. (In May, Brennan called the intelligence leaks “appalling.”) Yes, the president could be covering up misdeeds of his own, raising thorny ends-and-means questions. But Trump haters should consider the precedent—and how they would feel if, say, a President Kamala Harris were to enter the White House in 2021 and be hobbled by a similar blizzard of leaks from intelligence officials who consider her soft on terrorism.

My Op Ed: Military and the intelligence community are pro democracy and patriotic. They also know that Trump is not pro democracy or patriotic. They know he's dangerous. 

Whether any of this means there is a deep state in America depends on your definition. Powerful bureaucrats with access to government secrets and trusted media friends certainly do try to influence presidents from the shadows. But in Washington, at least, their views and goals are not monolithic. And unlike their counterparts in the developing world, they do tend to execute the orders they’re given by the president, however grudgingly—and are committed to upholding the rule of law.

My Op Ed: Bureaucrats take bribes. 

Some of the subversion and leaks Trump has faced are merely federal employees defending their turf from budget cuts and bone-headed ideas. That’s far from the way the right-wing blogger Mike Cernovich described matters in August, when he told fellow conspiracy theorist and talk-radio host Alex Jones that the deep state would turn, literally, murderous: “Trump will be killed. … They’re going to kill us, they’re going to kill him, they’re going to kill everybody.”

My Op Ed: It's too bad that won't happen. Robespierre would have killed and terrorized the foot soldiers on the corporate criminal elite.

For Trump, a man who has always defined himself against caricatured enemies, the deep state is a useful boogeyman that allows him to merge several disparate political targets—real, exaggerated and imagined—into a single villain he can use to rally his supporters. The media’s role is particularly crucial: When Fox News host Sean Hannity tweeted on June 16 that he would open his show that night with an examination of “the deep state’s allies in the media,” the president of the United States retweeted him. It’s not easy to make conservatives distrust law enforcement and intelligence officials, but showing them to be in league with snotty liberal reporters makes that possible.

My Op Ed: Trump knows how stupid incredibly how stupid and depraved the Republican base is. Of all the the Republican primary candidates the base went for the two most depraved ones, Cruz and Trump. At this point is pretty worthless attacking Trump. It's time to destroy the Republican base by making fools of some of them and make their lives hell.

And so, after Trump’s fired FBI director, James Comey, admitted in June that he had relayed accounts of his bizarre interactions with the president to a friend, who in turn shared them with a New York Times reporter, former Trump campaign manager Cory Lewandowski appeared on NBC and attacked Comey as “part of the deep state.” “He’s everything that’s wrong in Washington.” It was as clever as it was insidious. Americans might be foggy about what, exactly, the deep state really is. But Washington they know—and know they hate.

And despite his campaign rallying cry to "drain the swamp," Trump has filled his White House staff and Cabinet with billionaires, donors, former politicians and Wall Street financiers.

Even as a candidate, it was tough to pin down Trump’s policy positions.

As president, it appears his changes in position come from learning on the job.

Trump decided that he would no longer call China a currency manipulator, for example, after his first meeting with Chinese President Xi Jinping. Trump told the Wall Street Journal that he learned China hadn’t manipulated its currency for months and that he needs to maintain a good relationship with China to address the North Korean threat.

In an interview with the Associated Press April 21, Trump admitted that when he originally said NATO was "obsolete" during the campaign, he made the claim "not knowing much about NATO, now I know a lot about NATO."

"Every decision is much harder than you'd normally make," he told AP, speaking about how the office has affected him. "This is involving death and life and so many things."

Meadows is a pro-life supporter and has called abortion a 'tragedy'. He opposes any federal funding for abortion and believes parents should be notified of underage abortion procedures. He also opposes churches and other religious sites providing birth control options.^[43]

Budget: Meadows is Really a Borrow and Spend Republicans

Meadows claims to be a fiscal conservative and is part of a group that has advocated for a balanced budget amendment to the United States Constitution. In addition he opposed the recent federal stimulus spending and has expressed desire for the federal spending growth rate to be capped at the inflation rate. He supports a moratorium on all earmarks until the budget has been balanced. Meadows opposes any cuts to military spending levels.^[43]

Climate change: Meadows is Owned the Coal Barrons

In December 2016, Meadows presented to Donald Trump a wish list of regulations that must be repealed. It included a demand to get rid of all federal funding to study climate change. He also requested Trump repeal several environmental regulations including the Renewable Fuel Standard, stop the prohibition of drilling oil on federal lands, and pull the US out of the Paris Climate Agreement.^[44]

Civil rights: Meadows is a Wife Beater and A Racist

Meadows' former chief of staff, Kenny West, resigned after female employees accused him of inappropriate behavior but remained on the House payroll in violation of House rules, according to an independent investigation by the House Ethics Committee. Meadows paid West $58,125 from April 2015 to August 2015 even though he was no longer working in Meadows’ office, according to the Office of Congressional Ethics.

There is “substantial reason to believe that Representative Meadows retained an employee who did not perform duties commensurate with the compensation the employee received and certified that the compensation met applicable House standards, in violation of House rules and standards of conduct,” the OCE report said.

In October 2014, a group of employees reported to the deputy chief of staff "they were uncomfortable with Mr. West's inappropriate behavior towards them," the OCE report said. Meadows asked the chief of staff of Rep. Trey Gowdy to interview the employees, and Meadows eventually limited or prohibit West's presence in Meadows' offices, the report said.^[36]

As of January 2018, the ethics committee investigation was still open, with a former Meadows aide testifying to the House Ethics Committee that top staff and, perhaps even Meadows himself were made aware of West’s behavior far earlier than has been publicly reported, according to the Daily Beast. West denies he sexually harassed anyone

In February 2013, Meadows voted against renewing the Violence Against Women Act. Meadows has said he casts his votes based not on his personal feelings but on what the majority of his constituents in “God’s Country” tell him to do.^[45]

Energy: Meadow Is a Whore for Big Oil

Meadows has stated that cap-and-trade emission policies are ineffective and have minimal impact on the global environment. He has proposed that the United States should tap into oil and gas reserves to keep energy prices low, and to develop energy independence. He supports tapping into off-shore oil and gas supplies.

Gay marriage: Meadows is a Closet Gay Republican Who Hate Other Gays and He Loves Being Tea bagged.

Meadows opposes same-sex marriage. In March 2013 he stated that if the Supreme Court allowed gay marriage, it would cause a constitutional crisis if the Federal government decided to dismiss state decisions and thus infringe on state's rights.^[46] In September 2013, Meadows voted for protecting anti-same-sex marriage opinions as free speech.

Gun control[edit]

Meadows opposes any restrictions on gun purchases and opposes a national gun registry that would list detailed information about firearm ownership.^[43]

Healthcare: Meadow is a Whore for The Medical Industrial Complex

Meadows opposes the Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act ("Obamacare"), and states that it should be replaced by private enterprise.^[43]

Meadows, who at the time had been in office for less than a year, wrote the letter which initially urged House Speaker John Boehner to shut down the government unless the ACA was defunded. He has been criticized by some constituents for being responsible for the government shutdown and has been labeled its "chief architect" by the Washington Post. His district in North Carolina lost up to $1 million per day during the shutdown from the national parks being closed.^[47]

In January 2017, Meadows voted yes on a budget resolution that initiated the process of repealing Obamacare.^[48]

On May 4, 2017, Meadows voted for the American Health Care Act (AHCA), which would partially repeal and replace Obamacare.^[49]

However, after the CBO released numbers about the AHCA's effects on Americans on May 24, 2017, there were several reports that Meadow became emotional after reading about the AHCA's likely effects on those with pre-existing conditions.^[50] Others reported he only cried after bringing up his family members who had dealt with pre-existing conditions, including his sister who had died of breast cancer, and his father who had died of lung cancer. Meadows said he wouldn't "make a political decision today that affects somebody's sister or father because I wouldn't do it to myself."^[51] When asked about the CBO numbers by reporters, Meadows said the government should ensure people with pre-existing conditions can afford health care, saying, "The president is committed to making sure pre-existing conditions are covered in principle and in practice, which means that funding has to be there to make it work." He continued, "One of the critical things that we are going to make sure of is there is the appropriate funding to do that."^[52]

Jobs: Smoke and Mirrors, Corporations Don't Pay Taxes

Meadows supports lowering corporate tax rates as a strategy to promote new employment and thus create more jobs. In addition he has called for free trade.^[43]

Net Neutrality: Meadows Wants Internet Anarchy and Censorship

Meadows opposes regulations that require all internet providers provide internet at equal speeds to all parties. He delivered a list of regulations to repeal to Trump in 2016, which included net neutrality regulations by the Federal Communications Commission.^[44]

Russia investigation: Meadows Hates the Rule of Law

Meadows, a member of the House Oversight and Government Reform Committee, has been a harsh critic of Special Counsel Robert Mueller's investigation into Russian interference in the 2016 election. During Trump's presidency, Meadows regularly conferred with Trump about Mueller's probe.^[53][54] In May 2018, Meadows called for a financial audit of the Mueller investigation.^[55]

Taxes: Meadow Wants Giveaways for the Filthy Rich

Meadows has signed the Taxpayer Protection Pledge, and he opposes a raise in all taxes, including the income tax. Meadows supports a flat-rate income tax for all income-earners, and a repeal of the raise in the capital gains tax. He also supports the elimination of the estate tax.

Wages: Meadows Wants Slave Labor

Meadows presented a letter to Donald Trump in 2016 which demanded the repeal of the federal requirement that public works projects must pay laborers and mechanics the local prevailing wages, which was initially made to protect traveling black workers in the South from being paid far less than local workers. The letter also demanded the repeal of the overtime rule from the Obama administration, which said people making less than $47,000 a year must be paid for overtime hours, compared to the previous requirement that those making over $23,000 a year could be denied overtime pay if the worker's duties could be considered "managerial." The letter also demanded the end of regulations requiring federal contractors to be paid for sick leave
